Random Ramblings #3

So… A lot has happened in the world and in my life recently and I wanted to talk about them in a rambly way.

I have been obsessed with the new Shakira album and solitaire. Also, I have had A-Level Exams during the last month and coursework to complete.

It has also been SO hot in the UK and it’s almost unbearable.

I hope you enjoyed this quick post and I hope to see you again soon when I post next.

My Weird Phases and Obsessions

I am one who has weird phases where I am obsessed with a certain thing and I thought why not share a few with you guys. Lets go

  • The Shakira Phase – This is a phase I have been in since the beginning of 2017 and haven’t got out of it as of yet.
  • The stationary obsessions – This is literally an obsession that I have had since I was very young and I haven’t got out of this either.
  • The going to school clubs phase – This was something that was massive in my primary school years. I literally done everything from dance to handchimes. However, when I went into secondary school I pretty much quit all of these clubs and to be completely honest I think that it was the best decision that I could of made.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope to see you again soon when I post next.

Heart To Heart: The Morning of an Exam

As you may know, it is the dreaded exam season. I’m in Y13 so I’m in my 2nd year of A-Levels/BTEC Level 3s and due to me taking A-Level Maths, I have exams (the first of which was on May 17th). I would say that I am reasonably experienced with the whole exam ordeal as this is now my 4th consecutive year of doing exams and due to this I thought that I would share my tips of what I do to prepare for an exam the night before and on the day of an exam.

It is hard, I really do know but there are some ways in which you can get yourself prepared both physically and mentally for an exam.

These tips are all down to my personal opinion. You can change them to what is beneficial for you and to suit your needs and your lifestyle.

    The Morning of an Exam

    • Wake up at a good time.
    • Ensure that you allow yourself enough time to take your time with everything to minimise stress.
    • HAVE BREAKFAST
    • Ensure that you have everything ready for your exam and for your day. (Or double check from the night before)
    • Leave a bit earlier in case of any delays due to traffic. Better to be early than late
    • Try to get to your exam location early
    • Get yourself into the zone with music
    • Stay away from stressful people
    • Go to the toilet and keep hydrated before (and during the exam)
    • Get to your exam hall/room with time to spare
    • Keep calm (I know it’s stressful but it won’t be for too long)

I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope to see you again soon when I post next.

Heart to Heart: The Night Before an Exam

    The Night Before

    • This is something down to personal opinion but I don’t revise after school the night before an exam. This is due to the fact that I feel that if I don’t know something before the night before, why would I know it the night before and it stresses me out way too much and stress is the thing you want the least. Depending on who you are you may want to revise the night before but I don’t recommend it. If you have to, please don’t spend too long revising the night before.
    • Relax in any way you can. This could be by having a bath, reading, doing colouring or anything else that you love.
    • Indulge yourself
    • Have a nice and fulfilling dinner. Tonight isn’t the night to not eat properly.
    • Get off your phone. Please as it will affect you in terms of going to sleep. This will be detrimental for you.
    • Go to bed early. This is so important. I’m not talking about 7pm early but please go to bed at a reasonable time.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope to see you again soon when I post next.

TheThe Misconceptions of the ‘Perfect’ Life and Perfection.

      aWhat does perfect even mean???

To fuel my curiousness of finding out the definition of ‘perfect’, I decided to search for it on the good ol’ trusty Google. I discovered that the term ‘perfect’ was in fact definable.

Here is the dictionary definition of perfect.

      Screen-shot-2013-11-27-at-5.41.13-AM

The definitions of perfect vary by context but they all refer to the same idealism, the same unrealistic idealism.

Personally, I feel that perfection is completely and utterly subjective and is subject to one’s opinion. I feel that the term perfect is undefinable as everything and everyone is perfect in some way that is unique to that person or thing.

There is this massive pressure to be perfect, to have a perfect life and all that. It is completely and utter bullshit and completely unrealistic.

The media especially has placed a significant amount of pressure on people through both traditional media and modern media, notably due to the dramatic rise of online and social media.

There is something about Photoshopping the shit out of someone to make them look like what seems to be perfect that annoys the hell out of me. I’m not going into it too much as I don’t really feel like it but I do have really strong opinions about the matter.

This pressure to be perfect and to have a perfect life is something that can really have detrimental effects on peoples health, development, feelings, confidence and self esteem. This is really clearly the case when it comes to the young and impressionable people. They see these people looking perfect and having perfect lives and either feel like they are not perfect because they are not like them or feel like their life isn’t perfect because it isn’t the lifestyle that these well-known high profile people have.

As in the words of Hannah Montana, “Nobodys Perfect”

I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope to see you again soon when I post next.

      More on Manchester

As you may know, there was a bomb that went off in the foyer of the MEN arena in Manchester after the Ariana Grande concert on Monday.

So many innocent people died and even more were injured. These people were concert goers or those who were picking up someone. This should of been an evening filled with joy but it has ended in disaster.

This is nobody’s fault apart from the people involved with the bombing. It’s so sad but it’s amazing to see how everyone has been united despite this tragedy.

I can only give my consolodences to those affected by this incident. My heart truly goes out to them all.
